Jiadi Wang is studying as an MA Fine Art student in Chelsea College of Arts and currently works as an artist as residency in Beijing, China.

 

Jiadi is a sculptor who joins combinations using readymades to create certain relationship in-between. Her main method is to intervene the objects at certain extends by uaing the property from themselves to create subtle interactions, presenting delightful sculptures. 

 

The artist is very interested in decomposing the quality of the objects and their normal impression to people, by the artist’s particular interventions, presenting a whole new face and relationship built in between the objects as artworks. 

 

Jiadi uses mass-produced commodity and everyday objects. every different relationship built in-between different objects, the original speciality and function of each object is retained but also perfactly emerse with the other object - like they were born to be.

The artist aims to discover the possiblity of using readymade to create harmornious and balanced relationnship.

 

Another reason for the artist’s intention to use everyday object is that she gets sick all year round and has to spend most of the time at home to heal and rest. Therefore the artist tends to use the most accessible materials to create the world she imagines. On the other way, this situation directs her artist practices to keep investigate in the field of readymade sculpture.
